Different spaces for different needs

Today’s arrangement divides the box loosely into two functional areas. One side remains relatively clear because observation has shown that Astra prefers to settle there to feed the puppies. The other side contains the puppies’ changing physical environment.

With their eyes beginning to open, the octopus has been draped over the other objects to create areas of shade beneath it. This gives the puppies somewhere to move away from the bright heat lamp if they choose. Its tentacles and the objects underneath also create surfaces to climb over, push against and navigate, while an open area of stable floor remains available for their first attempts at walking.

The arrangement is not intended to make the whole box difficult. It offers different possibilities at the same time: a clear platform for Astra, sheltered and uneven areas for the puppies, and open floor where walking requires less effort.
